A committed collaboration with OXFAM: giving meaning to publications

Published on
7 March 2025

Since 2021, our agency #inextremis has collaborated with OXFAM to produce publications that carry strong and meaningful messages. Over the years, we have worked together to create impactful communication materials that enhance clarity, engagement, and advocacy efforts.

This partnership highlights our expertise in editorial design and our ability to translate complex narratives into compelling visual formats.

By combining impactful design with strategic structuring, we help organisations like OXFAM maximise the reach and effectiveness of their reports, studies, and advocacy materials.

Our experienced graphic designers ensure that each publication is visually engaging and enhances the clarity and accessibility of critical information.

More than a collaboration, this partnership reflects our broader commitment to supporting international organisations and European associations in creating communication materials that truly make a difference.

OXFAM: a history of fighting for social justice

Founded in 1942 in Oxford, OXFAM is now an international confederation of 21 organisations in over 90 countries. Its mission is clear: to combat inequality and poverty by providing sustainable solutions to humanitarian crises and advocating for fairer policies. From access to clean water to campaigns for economic justice and support for vulnerable communities, OXFAM is a major player in driving social change on a global scale.

Publications that combine visual impact and editorial precision

At #inextremis, we understand that a report, a study, or a manifesto is more than just an informational document. These are strategic tools designed to capture attention, structure a message, and amplify the impact of the initiatives they support. A well-crafted publication can engage decision-makers, inspire stakeholders, and reinforce the credibility of an organisation’s advocacy work.

This is why we have designed several publications for OXFAM, bringing our editorial design expertise to serve their mission. Our approach goes beyond aesthetics; it is about creating a visual language that enhances the clarity of complex content while ensuring that key messages stand out.

We work closely with OXFAM’s teams to ensure that every design choice aligns with their objectives—whether through compelling infographics, structured layouts that guide the reader, or a balanced use of typography and imagery to maintain engagement.

Our graphic designers, specialising in institutional publications, ensure that readability, dynamism, and visual coherence are perfectly balanced. We apply best practices in editorial design, including the strategic use of white space, colour coding for thematic differentiation, and adaptive formatting to accommodate both digital and print distribution.

Each publication is carefully crafted to facilitate content assimilation while respecting OXFAM’s visual identity and the conventions specific to organisations with a societal focus.

A significant challenge in producing impactful publications is making data and research findings accessible to a broad audience, including policymakers and the general public.

We address this by integrating clear data visualisation, succinct summaries, and logical content flow that transforms complex narratives into compelling stories.

This meticulous work requires a deep understanding of the issues at stake and the ability to translate intricate concepts into digestible formats visually.
