It does not happen every day that you get to work alongside an organisation that shares your passion for shaping a sustainable future.
At #inextremis, we’ve been fortunate to partner with WWF since 2009, collaborating on their annual reports.
This collaboration has grown more profound and more rewarding with every passing year. I’ve often reflected on what makes this partnership so unique: the mutual respect we’ve built. This year’s FY2024 Annual Report reminded me why this work matters profoundly.
Working with WWF’s communication team isn’t just about meeting deadlines or ticking off deliverables—it’s about telling a story that inspires action.
When we started this collaboration over a decade ago, I was awestruck by their unwavering commitment to the planet. Over time, I’ve seen how our strengths complement theirs: they bring expertise and a deep understanding of environmental challenges while we add visual creativity to amplify their message.
As we worked together this year, I marvelled at the team’s resilience—theirs and ours. Of course, the long hours and tight deadlines were a challenge. Still, there’s something uniquely energising about working on a project that you know has a real impact. I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet moments when the work flows—when everyone is on the same page, chasing the same goal.
As we delved into the data and stories that define WWF Belgium’s work this year, a few themes stood out powerfully:
Restoring biodiversity:
WWF Belgium’s reforestation efforts in Central Africa and marine conservation projects remind me that even small steps can lead to significant changes. The scale of environmental challenges can be overwhelming, but seeing these tangible outcomes renewed my hope.
Driving climate action:
Their advocacy for carbon neutrality and renewable energy isn’t just strategic—it’s essential. Crafting this part of the report felt like writing a call to arms, and it left me reflecting on my energy use at home.
Empowering communities:
One of my favourite parts of the report was the section on sustainable farming. WWF’s partnership with farmers to protect their livelihoods and the environment is a beautiful example of collaboration at its best.
Staying accountable:
Transparency is at the heart of everything WWF does, and it shows how it allocates funds. Highlighting these numbers wasn’t just about proving credibility and honouring their donors’ trust.
Every piece of this report felt like a puzzle coming together. Of course, there were moments of doubt—like when I wondered if we could do justice to their incredible work. But seeing the final product reassured me that we’d created something meaningful together.
Our collaboration with WWF is part of a broader story. Over the years, we’ve worked with Greenpeace, UNEP, and the European Environment Agency. Each partnership has taught us something new about the art of communication and the power of purpose.
These experiences have been profoundly personal for me. They’ve shaped not only how I work but also how I think about the world.
I’ll never forget a moment early in my career when I struggled to connect the dots between creative work and real-world impact. But as I stood before a WWF project we’d helped bring to life, watching people engage with it, I realised something simple yet profound: stories matter. They change how we see the world and what we believe is possible.
This year’s report is a milestone but not the finish line. The challenges ahead are immense, but so are the opportunities.
At #inextremis, we’re more committed than ever to partnering with organisations that dare to dream of a better world—and who dare to act on that dream.
If you’re looking for a team that doesn’t just understand your message but feels it—if you want partners who are as invested in your success as you are—we’d love to hear your story.
Because, in the end, that’s what it’s all about: creating something that connects, inspires, and makes a difference.
