Effective communication is vital to enhancing understanding and driving meaningful action in the face of the climate crisis.
Our recent collaboration with EUMEPS, the European Manufacturers of EPS, exemplifies this principle through a hybrid publication that serves as a benchmark for best practices.
This publication highlights EPS’s six commitments to sustainability and targets European regulators, industry leaders, and climate-conscious citizens.
Working closely with EUMEPS’s communication team under the visionary leadership of Director General Jürgen Lang, we demonstrated the transformative power of strategic partnerships.
At #inextremis, exceptional results stem from close collaboration, and our work with EUMEPS was no exception. From the outset, their communication team had a clear vision: to create a publication that would resonate with key stakeholders while showcasing EPS as a sustainable material contributing to the circular economy.
Through regular meetings and iterative feedback sessions, we partnered with EUMEPS to craft a hybrid format that combined compelling visuals, actionable data, and a straightforward narrative. We developed original illustrations depicting the world with and without EPS, simplifying complex technical topics and making the publication more accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
The publication seamlessly integrates traditional print elements with digital features, including QR codes that guide readers to additional resources—a crucial touchpoint for an audience that values accessibility and depth.
The online version enhances engagement through interactive elements like modifiable illustrations controlled by a cursor and an introductory video featuring Jürgen Lang.
EPS’s six commitments are central to the publication, outlining the industry’s dedication to sustainable practices. These commitments address pressing environmental concerns and provide a clear framework for action:
These pillars guide the EPS industry and inspire broader action within the regulatory and industrial landscape.
The final publication is widely recognised as a model of best practices in EU association communication. Both versions were unveiled during EUMEPS’s 30th-anniversary celebration, culminating in a communication programme jointly developed by EUMEPS’s communication team and #inextremis. This milestone event showcased the strength of collaboration and the effectiveness of strategic communication efforts.
Its hybrid format ensures it reaches diverse audiences—from policymakers to industry stakeholders—each with unique needs and expectations. By delivering a clear message rooted in transparency and collaboration, the publication has strengthened EUMEPS’s position as a leader in sustainability.
Moreover, this project underscores the potential of our creative agency #inextremis to transform complex messages into accessible and impactful tools. It demonstrates how strategic partnerships can elevate communication efforts, enhance organisational credibility, and expand influence.
