Fabrizio Rossi presents CEMR PLATFORMA annual report on the SDGs

CEMR PLATFORMA’s Commitment: Fabrizio Rossi presented the fifth annual report on the SDGs, which highlights the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and PLATFORMA’s efforts in localising the sustainable development goals amidst challenging conditions, including the recent conflict in Ukraine.
Crisis Response and Leadership: The report emphasises the role of local and regional leaders as frontline responders in crises, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining European values of freedom, democracy, and local self-governance during ongoing conflicts and the post-COVID era.
Strategic Vision for Sustainable Development: It stresses the importance of seizing post-COVID opportunities to build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable societies in Europe, leveraging the universally accepted framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Action and Partnerships: The report advocates for a bottom-up approach to the SDGs, encouraging inclusivity, diversity, multi-sectoral partnerships, and gender equality to forge a ‘decade of action’ by strengthening local capabilities and international cooperation.
High-Level Advocacy and Future Goals: Fabrizio Rossi outlines the report’s objective to voice local and regional governments’ achievements and ongoing efforts at the upcoming high-level political forum on sustainable development, urging increased national and European support and resources to continue these initiatives.
