Over the past seven years, the Zhaga Consortium has spearheaded the development of a groundbreaking universal platform for streetlight connectivity, positioning streetlights as the backbone of smart cities. These streetlights are ideally situated, secure, and consistently powered, making them perfect hosts for various sensing tasks and communications for urban innovation.
In response to numerous cities’ widespread adoption of Zhaga-D4i-certified streetlights, the Zhaga Consortium has introduced the global Zhaga Smart City Sensor Awards. These awards aim to celebrate and acknowledge pioneering Smart City Sensors that can be mounted on streetlights using the Zhaga Book 18 standard and are eligible for Zhaga-D4i certification.
Zhaga is paving the way for a new Smart City Sensors market. With over 200 families of luminaires from leading global manufacturers already certified, this initiative presents the most cost-effective approach for the city-wide deployment of smart sensors.
The Zhaga Smart City Sensor Awards honours the trailblazers of this urban revolution. The Zhaga Consortium invites manufacturers, innovators, academics, and students to participate in celebrating these technological advancements.
The Zhaga Consortium, a global authority in the lighting industry, seeks to standardise interfaces of LED luminaire components. With a membership exceeding 270 companies, including manufacturers of LED luminaires, modules, drivers, engines, material and component suppliers, and testing labs, Zhaga is at the forefront of lighting innovation.
The Zhaga Consortium has entrusted the communications agency #inextremis with its promotional campaign for the Zhaga Awards. Under the guidance of Axel Baschnagel, the agency has crafted a dynamic content strategy, complete with a new logo for the award, a dedicated website, videos, social media engagement, and case studies.
