GS1 Standards were developed through collaboration among 60 representatives from 37 clinical trial organisations.
Led by CEOs from Pfizer and Sanofi, the group worked with GS1 for nine months to create the GS1 application standard for identifying investigational products in clinical trials.
The standard aims to streamline processes by focusing on identifying and barcoding investigational products, benefiting all parties involved.
Benefits include faster progress, reduced errors, and easier adoption of data capture methods for clinical trial sites.
Adopting the GS1 standard enhances trust throughout the supply chain, benefiting patients.
