APPLiA — HOME APPLIANCE EUROPE
A platform that speaks with authority.
For APPLiA, the voice of Europe’s home appliance industry, we built a website designed to earn trust and carry weight in Brussels and across Europe.
Who they are
APPLiA represents Europe’s home appliance industry — one of the continent’s largest manufacturing sectors by turnover and employment.
From Brussels, they speak for a community that powers millions of European homes and jobs.
The site positions APPLiA as “the voice of the home APPLiAnce industry in Europe,” with clear routes to News and Publications (policy papers, press, statistical reports) and a structured “About” area.
in brief — challenge → move → outcome
Challenge
To serve policymakers, media, members and the public with one reliable, EU-ready hub — fast, clear, and trusted by all.
Move
We reimagined the information architecture around the content people look for most — News, Publications, and About.
We introduced clear entry points (Featured, Latest) and a refreshed design system grounded in APPLiA’s identity research. “Latest”: apply a refreshed design system rooted in prior brand research.
Outcome
A credible, accessible platform that reflects APPLiA’s authority — recognisably theirs, and built to stand up to Brussels-level scrutiny.

Context — one year, many stakes
Following a brand review and research work (questionnaires and workshops) done with APPLiA’s leadership and communications team, the website was rebuilt to embody the organisation’s visual identity and strategic direction — a modern, interactive platform that mirrors APPLiA’s public role.

The challenge
Create a credible, accessible, and fast site that media, policymakers, members, and the public can all use
— without diluting APPLiA’s authorship. Key needs: a clear information architecture, strong editorial
surfaces (“Featured Content”, “The Latest”), and deep access to Publications (including the Statistical Report).
Our role — discreet sparring partner, inside your rhythm
We worked alongside APPLiA to pressure-test the narrative, structure the IA, and apply design judgment so the site reads simply at the surface yet holds up under scrutiny.
- IA & navigation — direct paths to News, Publications (Policy papers, Press releases, Statistical Report, Studies, Campaigns), and “About APPLiA.”
- Editorial surfaces — “Featured Content” and “The Latest” give timely, scannable entry points for EU-facing stories.
- Design system — typography, palette, components and motion cues aligned with APPLiA’s identity, refreshed through prior research and workshops.
- Governance & continuity — the site credits inextremis for design while preserving APPLiA’s voice and ownership across pages and updates.

The system — clear, credible, repeatable
A lean component library supports article types, long-form Publications (including Statistical Reports 2023–2024), and “At a glance” data sections. The structure makes adding, rearranging, and surface content easy as EU priorities shift — without reinventing the site’s logic.
Outcomes — recognisably BEPS, built for Brussels and beyond
- Faster comprehension for varied audiences via strong landing surfaces and deep Publication access.
- Higher credibility through sober design, clear IA, and a visual system already anchored in the brand review.
- Authorship preserved — a public presence that reads as APPLiA’s work, with design attribution kept discreet.
